moving forward

ok as i'm sure many have noticed alot of inanimate transformation blogs are inactive myself included some reasons (i know it's my main problem) is hitting a wall. So with all the blogs down that means for people who just like to read stories and look through captions that there is nothing fresh to see. So with no word on purseboy i have been considering if we set up a blog or site that was similar to purseboy in the way that it is people sending in stories or captions and having them all in one place and run by a larger group of people than would be available on individual blogs.

So what would everyones opinions be on that?
would you like to see something happen again? would you prefer to leave it and wait for purseboy to return do you not really care as long as there's new stuff to see? let me know in comments of this post it is after all just currently an idea

  1. the inanimate theme does net a pick me up. guess it is a small fan base so a one stop shop could be the answer.

  3. I don't know, I always thought it was silly when so many creators were aggregating their content through Purseboy. There was always a 2-4 week delay between the submission and the posting of content, because all content created by everyone was going through two overworked volunteers.

It seems like it'd be a much better solution if all of the old Purseboy creators set up their own blogs and we all just linked to one another in our sidebars. And before anybody says that not all of those creators would have time to run their own blogs, it's SO easy to set up a Blogspot blog. They were already creating a ton of content; it'd take almost no additional time to toss those images onto their own blogs instead of e-mailing them to Milo and Ashley like they used to.

    Just my two cents.

  4. I would go ahead and suggest you go ahead and do your thing. I don't really have any involvement with Ashley anymore, and haven't heard how the new site is coming.

All I can say though is that it will be hard work to get it started, Ash put tons and tons of work into the blog and it took way longer to reach 100,000 views than it did the first 5 million or so. You'll have to try and hopefully find others who are willing to make and add more content, and then create enough of your own to keep the blog getting steady views. It would be amazing to have another big blog that has many captioners. Hopefully not too long into the future we will find another like Purseboy.

If you are managing all the work yourself, try to find an easier way to upload everything, that was a lot of work, Steve was right between Ash and I, we were really overworked.
